Alec Duxbury has a diverse work experience. Alec started their career as a substitute teacher at University Prep in 1991. In 1993, they became a student teacher at Roosevelt Public High School before returning to University Prep as an English teacher and Outdoor Ed Coordinator in the same year. Alec held these positions until 2022. From 2004 to 2020, they also served as the Outdoor Education Coordinator at University Prep. In 1994, Alec became the Head Coach for the Varsity Boys Soccer team at University Prep, a role they held until 2022. In 2010, they took on the position of Head Coach for the Varsity Girls Soccer team at University Prep until 2022. Currently, Alec is working as a Youth Soccer Coach at Seattle United, a position they started in 2022.

Alec Duxbury completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Washington from 1986 to 1991. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Teaching at Seattle Pacific University, which they completed in 1993. Alec later continued their education at Seattle Pacific University, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Education in 1996. Prior to attending university, Alec attended the University Preparatory Academy in 1986.
