Shane Martin

Shane Martin serves as the Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Seattle University since June 2018, contributing to the academic leadership of an urban Jesuit university. Prior to this role, Shane held various positions at Loyola Marymount University from August 2005 to June 2018, including Dean of Graduate Studies and Dean of the School of Education. Additionally, Shane has extensive board experience, serving on the boards of Seattle Preparatory School since September 2024, Teach for America - Los Angeles, and Green Dot Public Schools, where Shane was Board Chair from 2009 to 2012 and Director from 2015 to 2018. Shane's educational background includes a Ph.D. in International and Intercultural Education from the University of Southern California, an M.Div/Th.M in Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, and a BA in History from Loyola Marymount University.
