Alex Smith

Alex Smith is a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience in regulatory environments. Currently serving as a Securities Examiner at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since June 2023, Alex previously held positions in core compliance at Brown Brothers Harriman and as a Senior Compliance Manager at Summit Partners. Prior to that, Alex worked in various compliance roles at State Street, including Vice President of Compliance Incident Management and Assistant Vice President of Compliance Analysis. Alex's earlier experience includes time at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Enforcement Unit and as a Litigation Coordinator at MicroFinancial, Inc. Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies from Suffolk University and has also studied at Charles University.
