Eric Vendt is a partner with Whiteford Taylor & Preston LLP, a mid-Atlantic regional law firm, serving as Co-chair of the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice. Eric is a corporate lawyer and an experienced advisor to emerging growth and middle-market companies, start-ups and entrepreneurs. His practice covers a broad range of business and corporate matters, including formation, governance, capital raising, venture capital, private equity and traditional corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning.
As outside general counsel to government contractors, Eric regularly advises companies on legal issues related to contracts, government regulation, commercial & technology matters, growth strategy, structure and corporate transactions. With respect to government contracts M&A, Eric has handled transactions ranging from a couple of million dollars to $250MM, including both equity transactions and contract novations.
Eric started his legal career as a tax lawyer having studied accounting in college, becoming a certified public accountant and working in public accounting for a short period before heading to law school. Eric has been with WTP for 21 years and is a resident in the firm’s Falls Church office.
Eric received his BSBA in accounting from Bucknell University in 1991 and his law degree from American University in 1995. Eric has held leadership positions at his firm, in his community and in the American Bar Association.
