Scherrie Kennedy

Scherrie Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Scherrie is currently working as a Senior DevSecOps Engineer at Second Front Systems since January 2023. In this role, they are responsible for implementing SecOps best practices for Defense and Intelligence platforms and contributing to certification efforts.

Prior to that, they worked at Cisco from April 2019 to January 2023 as a DevSecOps Engineering Lead. During their tenure, they designed and led SecOps, DevSecOps, and SOC solutions for Cloud, Data Center, and Application Security in the U.S. Federal space.

From 2017 to 2019, Scherrie was associated with Experis where they served as a DevOps Engagement Manager for Cisco. In this role, they designed, hired, and led high-performing DevOps and DevSecOps teams and also led Federal Certification efforts. Scherrie also played a key role in architecting and leading Agile transformations for multiple teams. Additionally, they held the position of Product Services Director from December 2017 to November 2018 at Experis.

Scherrie's work experience also includes a role as a Sales Representative at Citrix from April 2017 to October 2017. Scherrie was responsible for driving sales and building customer relationships through workflow analysis, threat assessment, and solution implementation.

Before that, they worked as a Manager at Friesians of Majesty from August 2016 to March 2017. In this position, they were responsible for the operational and business management of a large horse breeding farm. Scherrie also designed and implemented a social media marketing plan and managed the website and technology for the farm.

Scherrie's earlier experience includes working as an Operations Manager at Movado Group, Inc from April 2016 to August 2016, where they were responsible for managing a store, analyzing sales results, and driving sales. Scherrie also served as a Financial Advisor at Nationwide Financial from May 2003 to February 2016, where they built and managed a $20 million Financial Services book of business. Additionally, they worked as a Regional Internal Manager at Nationwide Financial from June 1996 to May 2003, where they trained and managed agents and provided training at the national level.

Overall, Scherrie Kennedy has extensive experience in roles related to DevOps, DevSecOps, SecOps, sales, and management, with a focus on technology and financial services.

Scherrie Kennedy obtained a degree in Financial Management from Franklin University, where they attended from 1998 to 2002. In addition, they have earned several certifications throughout their career. Scherrie obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in April 2018, followed by the AWS Certified Developer certification from the same institution in June 2018. In January 2021, they obtained the Certified SAFe® 4 Product Owner/Product Manager certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. Furthermore, they earned the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification from Amazon Web Services in May 2021, as well as the AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification from the same institution in November 2021. Scherrie also holds certifications from other organizations, including the Data Science @Cisco Green Belt from Cisco, obtained in August 2021, and the CompTIA CySA+ ce Certification, obtained in June 2023. More recently, in April 2023, they obtained the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications from (ISC)². Scherrie is currently pursuing the Malware Analysis Certificate (2 of 4) and Responding to a Breach Certificate (1 of 4) as part of the ISC2 Security Administration & Operations Certificate Program, expecting to complete them in May 2023.
