Courtney Blaise

Director of Community Engagement at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Courtney Blaise has a diverse range of work experience. From 2012 to the present, Courtney has worked at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, starting as a Volunteer Associate and progressing to roles such as Community Relations Coordinator, Community Relations Manager, and currently, Director of Community Engagement. In these positions, Courtney has demonstrated strong leadership skills, developing and implementing strategies that have increased awareness of hunger issues, cultivated partnerships with businesses and community organizations, and raised significant amounts of food and funds for the food bank. Prior to joining Second Harvest, Courtney worked as a Case Manager at Omni Visions from 2009 to 2012. From 2007 to 2009, Courtney served as a Child and Family Advocate at Two Rivers CAC, providing support to children and families in crisis. Earlier in Courtney's career, from 2004 to 2007, they worked at City Service Mission (CSM) as a City Host and Associate Director, overseeing service immersion programs for middle school, high school, and college-aged students. Overall, Courtney's work experience showcases their ability to drive community engagement, build partnerships, and make a positive impact in the nonprofit sector.

Courtney Blaise has an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in American Sign Language Interpretation from Delaware Technical Community College. Courtney also obtained another Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Drug & Alcohol Counseling from the same college. Additionally, Courtney has a Bachelor's degree in Family and Community Services from the University of Delaware. Courtney has also obtained several certifications, including CEO Connect from Spark: Lipscomb's Idea Center in August 2022, Certified in Food Resourcing from Feeding America in September 2019, and Tow Motor + Reach Truck from Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in November 2012.
