Volunteer Engagement Coordinator (Temporary) at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Wendy Ellmo has a diverse work experience history. Wendy started their career as an Adjunct Faculty at Kean University in 1995, teaching until 2006. In 1988, they joined the Center for Head Injuries, JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Hospital as a Clinical Service Supervisor. During their time there, they gained expertise in evaluating and treating traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and other neurologic disorders. Wendy also coordinated conferences and conventions. Wendy then worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at Craven County Schools from 2013 to 2014. In 2015, they became the Director of Marketing at OpEx Plastics, a position they held until 2016. Wendy also worked as a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator (Temporary) at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee in 2017. Lastly, they are currently employed as a Speech Language Pathologist and Brain Injury Specialist at Brain Links since November 2017.

Wendy Ellmo obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and Psychology from Duke University, where they studied from 1983 to 1986. Wendy then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist at Rutgers University from 1986 to 1988. Wendy also holds additional certifications, including being Board Certified in Neurogenic Communication Disorders and Sciences by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Sciences and Disorders. Wendy has also obtained a Certificate of Clinical Competence from The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Furthermore, Wendy has certifications in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and others, as well as Integrated Energy Therapy. Wendy is also a Reiki Master Teacher.
