Eric Aft serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, a position held since July 2018, where leadership efforts focus on combating hunger across 18 counties. Aft also contributes to academia as an Adjunct Faculty member at Salem College, teaching strategic planning and evaluation. Previous leadership roles include Chief Operating Officer at Second Harvest (2017-2018), Director of Development for Wake Forest University's Mid-Atlantic Region (2016-2017), and Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Community Impact at United Way of Forsyth County (2004-2016). Earlier career highlights include serving as President of United Way of Central Virginia (1997-2004) and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Wooster (1993-1997). Aft earned a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rhodes College.

Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC moves rescued and donated food throughout the 18 counties of Northwest North Carolina to families in need. Together, with over 450 on the ground non profit partners, we work to get food to the people and the corners of our communities that need it most. Special focus areas include childhood hunger, healthy food initiatives, advocacy work, and our social entrepreneurship programs, Triad Community Kitchen culinary program and Providence Restaurant.
