Wayne Stickney

Wayne Stickney has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Wayne is currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Prior to this, Stickney was the Vice President of Development at Special Olympics Southern California, where they successfully revamped the Development Department and led a $10 million comprehensive campaign. Stickney also worked as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at California State University-Long Beach, where they significantly increased revenue and played a key role in policy development and strategic planning. Wayne also built a development department from scratch at New Mexico State University and implemented a major gift program. Stickney started their career as the Coordinator of Athletics Development at California State University-Long Beach and also served as the Coordinator of Campus Scholarships and Development. Additionally, they held the position of President/CEO at Associated Students Inc. @ CSULB.

Wayne Stickney has an extensive education history, with a focus on leadership and counseling in the field of education. Wayne earned their Educational Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science in Counseling: Higher Education Student Affairs at California State University, Long Beach, from 2002 to 2006. Before their master's degree, Stickney obtained their Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the same institution, attending from 1997 to 2002.

In addition to their degrees, Stickney has obtained various certifications related to fundraising and leadership. Wayne received the Raiser's Edge NXT Fundamentals Certification from Blackbaud in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Stickney has also been recognized for their contributions in their career, receiving the Reeher Prime Officer Award from Reeher in both 2017 and 2018.
