Osamah El - Aroud

Osamah El-Aroud, MD, CRC has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Osamah currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Second Wave Delivery Systems, LLC. Prior to this role, they worked at Anthem, Inc. as the Medical Director of Medicare Risk Adjustment Regulatory Compliance. El-Aroud also held positions at Advantasure, where they were the Lead Medical Director and later the Managing Director of Medical and Care Management. Osamah provided clinical support, oversaw medical policies, and conducted medical record reviews. Before that, they worked at IHA as a Hospitalist, providing inpatient care and internal medicine consultations. Osamah also gained experience in ICU management and procedures. El-Aroud was a Medical Director at Data Driven Delivery Systems, LLC, where they provided clinical support and education to coders and primary care providers. Osamah also served in roles at Trinity Health as a Physician Champion during the ICD-10 transition and as a Physician Advisor for Clinical Documentation Improvement. Additionally, they worked as a Hospitalist at Huron Valley Hospitalists.

Osamah El-Aroud, MD, CRC completed their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) degree from Alfateh University, Faculty of Medicine, Tripoli, Libya in 1999. Osamah then pursued an Internship in Transitional Year Residency Program at Michigan State University Program at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI from 2001 to 2002. Subsequently, they completed a Residency in Internal Medicine Residency Program at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center, Dearborn, MI from 2002 to 2005. In 2015, they obtained a Risk Adjustment Coding Certification (CRC) from AAPC for Medicare Risk Adjustment Coding.
