Gigi D’Souza is an Associate Director in the Damages and Forensic Investigations practice with Secretariat and is based in New York. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), and she specializes in the quantification of damages and the valuation of businesses and securities in the context of commercial and investment disputes. Ms. D’Souza has over 10 years of experience in accounting and financial consulting, with over 5 years of experience in business valuations and damages quantification.

Ms. D’Souza has broad industry experience, including mining, oil and gas, technology, financial services, and retail franchising. She has prepared numerous expert reports for complex quantum issues institutional arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, AAA/ICDR and ICSID, as well as litigation in US and Canadian courts. Her background, which includes valuation modeling and forensic analysis, provides a strong foundation for quantum measurement in legal disputes. Ms. D’Souza has provided expert advice for all stages of legal disputes, including claim preparation and analysis, discovery, mediation and examination of expert witnesses at trials and hearings.

Prior to joining Secretariat, Ms. D’Souza was a Senior Consultant in the Economic and Financial Consulting practice at a global consulting firm, where she specialized in business valuation, damages quantification and financial advisory services. She was also formerly a Senior Accountant in the Audit and Advisory group at a Big Four accounting firm, where she provided audit and assurance services to financial institutions, private equity fund managers and insurance providers.
