Mattias Bergbom

Mattias Bergbom has a diverse work experience in various industries. Mattias is currently the Vice President of Product, Orthopaedics at Sectra, where they lead and manages the development team for pre-operative planning software. Prior to this role, they served as the Product Development Director at Orthopaedic Solutions within the Sectra group.

Apart from their work at Sectra, Mattias has also been a Board Member at Devant since 2022. Mattias owns their consulting company, M Bergbom AB, where they provide services to the visual effects industry and has worked on notable projects such as Disney's "Maleficent" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."

Earlier in their career, Mattias worked as a Senior Software Engineer at SwarmPlanet and held multiple roles at Digital Domain, including Technical Director and Digital Hair Supervisor for the film "TRON: Legacy." Mattias also worked as a Software Engineer and Digital Hair Artist on various projects at Digital Domain. Mattias began their career as a Marketing Intern at Sectra Imtec and served in the Swedish Armed Forces, completing compulsory military service as a soldier with the Jämtland Ranger Regiment.

Mattias Bergbom pursued their education at Linköping University from 2001 to 2007 where they received both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Media Technology and Engineering. Furthermore, they attended Stanford University in the year 2005-2006, focusing on computer graphics and computational dynamics, although they did not attain a degree during their time there.
