William Marshall

William Marshall has a diverse work experience in the fields of cybersecurity, information technology, and military communication. William has worked as a Senior Engineer at Security Onion Solutions, LLC since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Nelson Mullins from 2015 to 2022, where they served as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer responsible for managing all aspects of firm cybersecurity and incident response policies. Before that, William worked at the Army National Guard from 2014 to 2018 as the Defensive Cyber Operations Element (DCO-E) Team Chief, leading a cyber security team and providing incident response capability. William also served as the IT Infrastructure Manager at South Carolina Student Loan in 2014, overseeing information technology infrastructure and shared services. In the US Army from 2010 to 2014, William held various roles such as Communications and Information Security Officer, Public Affairs Officer, Communications Company Commander, and Communications Plans Officer. Additionally, they worked in the US Army from 2008 to 2009 as a Communications Logistics Officer and as an Earth Terminal Complex Director.

William Marshall obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Philosophy from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where they studied from 1997 to 2002. William further pursued their education at the same institution and obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Public Affairs from 2002 to 2004. In addition to their academic degrees, William Marshall also holds several certifications including CISSP from (ISC)2, which they obtained in February 2014, the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC, acquired in April 2015, and the GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) from GIAC Certifications, acquired in March 2017.
