Jared M. Smith

Jared M. Smith, PhD, is a Distinguished Engineer in R&D Strategy at SecurityScorecard, where expertise is utilized to lead cross-organizational initiatives and enhance cybersecurity products. Previously, Jared served as Senior Director of Threat Research, managing teams focused on novel threat research and response to cyber attacks, and contributed as a Principal Cyber Threat Researcher. Additional roles include Limited Partner at Market Square Ventures, Adjunct Professor at New York University, and CTO and Co-founder of Uncat. Jared's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, complemented by extensive teaching experience in cybersecurity-related courses. A track record of managing significant projects with funding from various government agencies has established Jared as a leading figure in the field of cybersecurity and data science.
