Jason McKenney

Director: Children And Family Health Div at Sedgwick County Government

Jason McKenney has a diverse work experience spanning various administrative and leadership roles. Starting from 2003, they worked as an Administrative Intern at Breakthrough Club and later served as a Counseling Intern at Via-Christi ACCESS/EAP in 2004. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Case Manager at Youthville before transitioning to the role of Permanency Team Supervisor. In 2010, Jason joined the Urban League of Kansas as the Education and Youth Empowerment Department Director, where they also served as a Field Practicum Supervisor and Youth Empowerment Program Director. Jason then worked as a Program Director at Diamond Healthcare from 2015 to 2016, followed by an Administrative Director position at Kansas City Behavioral Health. Jason served as the Director of State Services for Kansas at GT Independence from 2019 to 2021 before taking on the role of Founder at The Board Awakens Skatepark and Outfitter in 2021. Currently, they are the Director of Children and Family Health Division at Sedgwick County Government.

Jason McKenney earned a Bachelor's degree in General Studies, Psychology, and Business Sociology from Wichita State University from 1997 to 2002. Jason then pursued a Masters degree in Social Work at Wichita State University from 2002 to 2005. Subsequently, Jason became a Doctoral Candidate in Human Services at Walden University and attended from 2011 to 2014.

In addition to their academic achievements, Jason obtained multiple certifications. Jason became a Six Sigma Black Belt Professional from the Management and Strategy Institute in June 2019 and earned the Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the same institution in May 2017. In February 2006, they also acquired the LMSW certification from the State of Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
