Jayson Coil

Jayson Coil has extensive experience in emergency management and fire service, currently serving as the Assistant Fire Chief at Sedona Fire District since August 1998, where responsibilities include managing staffing, emergency operations, and incident response. Throughout this tenure, Jayson has held various leadership roles, including Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, and Fire Captain/Paramedic. In addition, Jayson has been involved with SWA IMT since July 2001 as an Operations Section Chief Type 1, responding to significant disasters, and as a Structure Protection Specialist. Jayson also served as the Fire Practice Lead at Red Team Thinking® from January 2020 to December 2023, focusing on enhancing decision-making through red teaming exercises. Jayson has an extensive academic background, holding a PhD in Performance Psychology, a Master’s degree in Leadership with an emphasis in Disaster Preparedness and Executive Fire Leadership, a Bachelor's degree in Applied Management, and an Associate's degree in Fire Science.
