Matt Buchanan

Matt Buchanan serves as a Trustee at Seeds for Growth charity since August 2021. Previously, Matt held the position of Head of Compliance at Stenn Technologies from September 2022 to November 2024, where responsibilities included the optimisation and leadership of global AML, sanctions, and financial crime frameworks. As Global Head of Compliance and MLRO at Checkout.com from June 2019 to August 2022, Matt designed and led the global financial crime and compliance program. A Financial Crime Compliance Director at Standard Chartered Bank from March 2016 to May 2019, Matt developed and implemented various risk assessment analytical models. Prior experience includes serving as Program Director at Deloitte, focusing on financial crime engagements, and as Project Director with the UK Government, overseeing process improvement and technology implementation programs. Matt began their career as a Project Manager with the Australian Government, managing justice initiatives in Western Australia. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Business Administration from Macquarie Business School and a Bachelor's in Justice from Edith Cowan University.
