Chief Scientist - Artificial Intelligence at Seeing Machines

Akshay Asthana is an accomplished professional in the field of artificial intelligence, currently serving as Chief Scientist and Machine Intelligence Group Lead at Seeing Machines since July 2014, where responsibilities include the development of algorithms for driver monitoring and assistance systems in semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles. Additionally, since September 2022, Akshay holds the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics. Previous roles include being a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Imperial College London and various positions at The Australian National University, including PhD Candidate, where Akshay was an AusAid Doctoral Scholar. Akshay's research experience includes internships at prestigious institutions such as Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs and Carnegie Mellon University, contributing to notable projects in machine learning and computer vision. Akshay earned a PhD in Computer Vision from The Australian National University and a BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology.
