Janisa Simmons

Janisa Simmons has a strong background in UX design and leadership roles. Janisa worked as a Principal UX Designer at Seeq Corporation, where they led a team to transform the product design process and improve customer engagement. Janisa also hosted workshops to educate the company on UX best practices and mentored designers and researchers. In addition, they designed and implemented major features and products from scratch, contributing to a contract with a major pharmaceutical company.

Janisa also served as a Lead Instructor at George Washington University, teaching UX/UI design and providing career mentorship to students. Before that, they worked as an Independent Consultant - UX Design Lead for the Department of Transportation, where they redesigned a web application used by truck drivers and medical examiners.

Janisa's prior experience includes roles as a User Experience Manager at Monster Government Solutions, where they managed a team and oversaw product design implementations, and as an Interaction Designer, leading high-profile projects. Janisa also worked as a UX/UI Designer at TCG, designing interfaces and providing solutions for MAX Applications.

Janisa's career began at Georgetown University, where they served as a Web Master, Front-End UX/UI, managing updates to various websites, coordinating email communications, and ensuring proper branding.

Janisa Simmons received a Graduate Certificate in Information Design from the University of Baltimore in 2013-2014. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Graphic Design from Morgan State University in 2002-2006. In 2016, they obtained a certification as a Certified Usability Analyst from Human Factors International.
