AMBIKA SUNDARESAN

Ambika Sundaresan has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Staff Data Scientist at Seer, where they analyze and visualizes proteomics data for the development of nanoparticle-based proteomic analysis solutions. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr. Data Scientist at Denali Therapeutics, leading biometrics efforts in clinical drug development programs for neurodegenerative diseases.

Ambika also has extensive experience in the field of bioinformatics. AMBIKA served as a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist at Illumina, where they trained and qualified clinical laboratories for noninvasive prenatal screening. AMBIKA developed a cloud-based competency app to streamline the analysis process and improve turnaround time.

Before joining Illumina, Ambika worked as a Scientist III at Thermo Fisher Scientific, specializing in bioinformatics for companion diagnostics projects. AMBIKA also gained experience as a Bioinformatics Scientist at BioNano Genomics, Inc., and at Illumina Inc., where they played a pivotal role in product development and launch of next-gen sequencing and genotyping technologies.

Ambika's career in bioinformatics began during their time as a grad student at the Salk Institute, where they developed their skills in the field.

Ambika Sundaresan has a strong education background in the fields of data science and engineering, bioinformatics/biology, and biochemistry/molecular biology. AMBIKA obtained their Master's degree in Data Science and Engineering from UC San Diego between 2019 and 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Bioinformatics/Biology at UC San Diego from 2002 to 2006. Ambika also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, which they earned from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ambika Sundaresan has obtained several certifications. AMBIKA is a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), having completed their certification with the Scrum Alliance in May 2017. AMBIKA is also a PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), receiving their certification from the Project Management Institute in December 2016. Furthermore, Ambika holds a Java Programmer certification, obtained from Sun Microsystems.
