Design And Usability Engineering Principal at Seer

Alejandro Lara has extensive experience in industrial design, particularly in the field of medical design. Alejandro currently holds the position of Principal Industrial Designer at Seer, a company focused on clinical monitoring and patient-centered healthcare. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior Industrial Designer at Seer.

Before joining Seer, Alejandro worked as an Industrial Design & Usability Consultant at Hydrix, a product innovation consultancy specializing in medtech, IoT, and industrial solutions. During their time at Hydrix, they were involved in the development of new products using a human-centered innovation approach.

Alejandro also gained experience at WILDDESIGN, a German design agency, where they held the positions of Senior Industrial Designer & Project Lead and Industrial Designer. Alejandro worked on projects in various fields, including medical design, laboratory devices, wearables, robotics, and consumer electronics.

Prior to WILDDESIGN, Alejandro worked at Batimat Insulation Technology as a Junior Industrial Designer. In this role, they were responsible for project management, strategy, industrial design, 3D modeling, prototyping, design for manufacturing, and branding.

Early in their career, Alejandro interned at WILDDESIGN, where they worked on a range of projects related to medical and industrial equipment. Their tasks during the internship included research, conceptualization, 3D modeling, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly), and prototyping.

Alejandro Lara completed their undergraduate education in Industrial Design Engineering from Universidad de Sevilla, where they studied Industrial and Product Design from 2006 to 2011. During their time there, they also attended Gazi University from 2010 to 2011 to further enhance their knowledge in Industrial Product Design. Alejandro has also obtained various certifications to broaden their skillset and professional development. These certifications include Product Management Fundamentals from RMIT Online (expected completion in 2023), Designing a Business and Designing Strategy from IDEO U (completed in 2020), UX Management: Strategy and Tactics from the Interaction Design Foundation (completed in 2020), Design strategy: Design thinking for business strategy and entrepreneurship from Coursera - University of Sydney (completed in 2019), and Innovation Management from Coursera - Rotterdam School of Management (completed in 2017).
