SeisPetro

SeisPetro is a consulting, software, and training company focused on petrophysical modeling, seismic constrained geological modeling and characterization of conventional and unconventional reservoirs. Our philosophy strives in the understanding of fundamental principles to create solutions that can be used in reservoir management and exploration decisions, focusing on the solution and not the technique. Tailoring petrophysics and seismic to specific needs, many times require tools which are not commercially available. Therefore, SeisPetro has developed, and continues to develop, specialized software that complement the work that can be performed with commercial platforms. We are the developers of iMineralysis™, a multimineral analysis tool that uses artificial intelligence to estimate mineral and fluid compositions in the most complex geological settings of rock and fluid properties. iMineralysis™ adaptively tests hundreds of combinations of coefficients within the specified ranges by using a genetic algorithm-based optimization. Basically, it performs the multimineral analysis for hundreds of possible cases in seconds! The increased speed allows exploring spatial variations in water resistivity, kerogen maturity, and clay composition and perform multimineral analysis in hundreds of wells in a short period of time. SeisPetro was founded by Dr. Reinaldo Michelena to continue the advancement of the reservoir characterization technologies he's been developing and applying during his career for more than 35 years.
