Abby Alexanian has a diverse range of work experiences. Abby is currently working as the Director of Operations at the SEIU Education & Support Fund. Prior to this role, they worked at Root Cause, where they held various positions including Project Director, Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives, and Manager. Before that, Abby was a Research Assistant at the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and a Program & Research Assistant at the Heller School MPP Program Diversity Subcommittee. Abby has also contributed their skills and expertise to non-profit organizations focused on domestic and sexual violence, including SafeHouse Center and HAWC Healing Abuse Working for Change. At these organizations, they served as a Children & Youth Shelter Advocate and took on roles such as creating and implementing programs, managing data collection systems, co-founding a diversity committee, and providing administrative support. In addition, Abby worked as a CARES Crisis Counselor at the Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Program, where they supported students affected by dating and sexual violence through empathic listening and administrative tasks. Abby Alexanian earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Studies with a minor in Hispanic Studies from Vassar College in 2011. In 2009-2010, they participated in a study abroad program at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Business Administration from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University from 2014 to 2016, specializing in the MPP/MBA dual degree program.
