Elaine Whitehead

Elaine Whitehead is an experienced Programme Lead for Art and Design at Selby College, where responsibilities include leading the HND Art and Design (Arts Practice) program since September 2005. The course offers pathways in graphic communication, photography, and fine art, fostering individual creativity in a supportive environment. As a practicing fine art photographer and artist since September 1984, Elaine emphasizes the importance of the conceptual background behind visual work. Previous roles include Chief Editorial Graphic Designer at Basildon Evening Echo, where Elaine established and managed the Graphic Design Department, and Graphic Design Artist at The Press York. Educational qualifications include a BA Hons in Fine Art from St Martins School of Art, a Master's degree in Art from York St. John University, and a PGCE in Education from The University of Huddersfield.
