Ray Nebel has a wealth of experience in the field of bovine reproduction and dairy herd management. Ray currently works as a Research and Technical Consultant at Select Sires Inc. and CowManager, where they are responsible for coordinating the Select Reproductive Solutions program. In this role, they conduct training seminars and provides reproductive consulting services. Prior to their current position, Ray worked as a Consultant at Dairymaster from 2009 to 2014. Ray also served as a Sr. Reproduction and Dairy Herd Management Specialist at Select Sires Inc. from 2005 to 2010. Ray's career in academia includes a professorship at Virginia Tech from 1985 to 2005. Early in their career, they worked as a Research Associate at the Louisiana Animal Breeders Cooperative, where they gained expertise in bovine semen collection, processing, and evaluation.
Ray Nebel obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Louisiana Monroe from 1971 to 1975. Ray then pursued a Master of Science degree in Dairy Science at the University of Maryland from 1975 to 1977. Following this, they attended Virginia Tech from 1980 to 1983, where they obtained a PhD in Reproductive Physiology.
