Jessica FX Cen has an extensive work experience beginning in 2011. Jessica FX was a UC Educational Abroad Program Ambassador at UC Berkeley from 2011 to 2012. Jessica FX then worked as a Community Preparedness Specialist - AAPI Outreach at the American Red Cross from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, Jessica worked as a Bilingual Resident Services Coordinator at Mercy Housing and a Line Dance Instructor, Community Program at the YMCA of San Francisco. Jessica FX then worked as a Major Gifts Officer and Donor Engagement and Stewardship Manager, Major Gifts at the American Red Cross from 2014 to 2016. During this time, they also worked as a Community Advocate / Seismic Safety Outreach Program Consultant at the Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYCSF). From 2016 to 2019, they were a Senior Services Professional at Sequoia Living. Jessica is currently the Director of Fund Development at Self-Help for the Elderly, a position they have held since 2021.

Jessica FX Cen completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Social Welfare, Gender and Woman's Studies from the University of California, Berkeley between 2008 and 2012. In 2011, they participated in Education Abroad at Yonsei University, studying Social Work, Korean Language and Culture. Currently, they are enrolled in a Certificate Program in Project Management at UC Berkeley Extension, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
