Freddy Garcia Cala

Freddy Garcia Cala has been working in the software industry since 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant at Escuela de Ingenieros Militares, where they were responsible for the research, design, and development of a prototype for the detection of antipersonnel mines using prospecting methods of mechanical waves. Freddy improved the simulation times by implementing numerical methods in the algorithms used to generate the soil models and reduced the costs of the project regarding the initial budget by creating the electronic circuits directly in the laboratory.

In 2014, Freddy started working at HeOn Health online S.A. as a Software Support Manager, where they were responsible for maintaining and improving web applications by identifying, reporting and solving bugs found. Freddy also designed new applications that improved the company's internal and external processes and lead a group of engineers who analyzed high impact incidents to propose improvements in applications. In addition, they were also a Problem Manager, where they detected recurring and high-impact incidents, found their root cause and proposed solutions to eliminate them. Freddy also designed and created new applications that improved the productivity and processes of the company and proposed improvements in existing applications to reduce the incidents reported in the service desk. As a Full Stack Developer, they designed, developed and tested web applications using the best technologies available to deliver the best experience possible, as well as supported the deployment process of the applications to meet the client requirements.

Currently, Freddy works at SelfDecode as a Full Stack Developer & Team Lead.

Freddy Garcia Cala obtained an Engineer degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas between 2008 and 2014. In 2017, they obtained an ITIL® Foundation certification from PeopleCert in November, as well as a Machine Learning certification from Coursera Course Certificates in the same month.
