Ekaterina Baibuz

Ekaterina Baibuz, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Ekaterina is currently working at Sellforte as a Senior Customer Data Scientist, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Customer Data Scientist at the same company from May 2021 to March 2023.

In terms of academic experience, Ekaterina worked as a PhD Researcher at the University of Helsinki from October 2014 to June 2023. Ekaterina successfully defended their PhD dissertation titled "High Electric Field Effects in Atomistic Modeling of Self-Diffusion on Metal Surfaces" with distinction. Their supervisor was Prof Flyura Djurabekova from the University of Helsinki, and their opponent was Prof Patrick Rinke from Aalto University.

Ekaterina has also been involved in science communication through their role as Vice-chair at The Science Basement. In this position, they coordinated projects such as Blogging Science and LEGOt lab, focusing on physics communications. Ekaterina held this role from February 2017 to December 2021.

Ekaterina gained industry experience as an AI Specialist at Efecte Plc from June 2020 to November 2020. Additionally, they worked as a Summer Student at the University of Helsinki in 2014 and completed an internship at DESY from May 2011 to April 2013.

Ekaterina Baibuz, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Nuclear Physics from Voronezh State University in 2011. Ekaterina continued their education at the same university and completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Physics in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, they attended the University of Helsinki, where they studied Physics. In February 2021, they received a certification in "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from Coursera.
