Courtney Utsey

Director Of Special Education at Selma City Schools

Courtney Utsey has over 15 years of experience in the field of education. Courtney started their career as a Resource Teacher at the Dallas County Board of Education in 2002 and worked there until 2005. Courtney then joined Selma City Schools as an SLP (Speech and Language Pathologist) from 2005 to 2012. After that, they became an Education Specialist at the Alabama Department of Education from 2012 to 2017. Currently, they are working as the Director of Special Education at Selma City Schools.

Courtney Utsey has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama, which they earned from 1998 to 2001. Courtney then pursued a Masters degree in Collaborative Teaching from The University of West Alabama from 2007 to 2009. Later on, from 2011 to 2013, they obtained another Masters degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama.
