Alexi Lopez-Lorca

Associate Director Of Professional Services at Semantic Web Company (SWC)

Alexi Lopez-Lorca has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their role as a Lecturer Assistant at the University of Wollongong from February 2010 to November 2012. During this time, they lectured in Information Design and Content Management and also taught first-year programming in labs.

From April 2013 to November 2015, Alexi worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Swinburne University of Technology, where they conducted projects in the social domain and managed research projects.

They then moved on to The University of Melbourne, where they worked as a Coordinator and Lecturer for Software Engineering subjects at Masters level from December 2015 to November 2018. Currently, Alexi is working at Semantic Web Company (SWC) as an Associate Director of Professional Services. They started in January 2019 and are responsible for supporting PoolParty customers, completing semantic projects, and ensuring the Data and Knowledge Engineers are well-equipped for their work. Additionally, they also serve as the Product Manager for PoolParty and SharePoint integration, managing the development team and adding new features for customers.

Throughout their career, Alexi has gained experience in taxonomy and ontology engineering, project management, business analysis, and data analysis.

Alexi Lopez-Lorca completed a Master's degree in Computer Science from Universidad de Murcia between the years 2000 to 2008. Subsequently, from 2009 to 2012, Alexi pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Information Technology at the University of Wollongong.
