Mark Vanderheuvel

Mark VanderHeuvel has 28 years of work experience in various roles within the energy industry. Mark is currently working as the Director of Engineering at SEMCO ENERGY since December 2019. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director at Consumers Energy from May 2017 to December 2019.

Before joining Consumers Energy, Mark worked at DTE Energy for 21 years, holding different roles including Director of Operations, Plant Manager, Production Manager, Project Lead, Reliability Engineer, and Chemical Engineer. Mark started their career at Blue Water Plastics, Inc. as a Project Engineer from November 1995 to August 1996.

Mark began their professional journey at ComEd, where they worked as an Environmental Engineer and later as a Chemistry Supervisor from June 1991 to October 1995.

Mark VanderHeuvel has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, which they obtained from 1987 to 1991. Mark also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the same university, though the specific dates for this degree are not provided. In 2002, Mark pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Flint at the University of Michigan, completing it in 2004.
