Director of Administration at SEMCOG

Misty Jordan has been in the finance and accounting industry since 1998. Misty began their career at the City of Taylor, where they held various roles including Office Manager, Budget & Finance Supervisor, Bookkeeper, Department Secretary, Billing Clerk, and Co-Op/Intern. Misty then became Finance & Accts Manager/Acting Director, where they were responsible for directing the budget and finance team, assembling multifaceted city wage and benefit spreadsheets for budget preparation, managing and updating the general fund 5-year state deficit elimination plan, composing cash flow analysis, leading city annual financial and federal awards audits, reconciling and analyzing all general ledger accounts, enhancing internal control processes, and communicating with City Council, Mayor, department heads, and bond rating agencies. In 2014, Misty began their role as Director of Administration at SEMCOG, where they also held roles as Finance Manager and Financial Accountant.

Misty Jordan obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Baker College Center for Graduate Studies between 2015 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, General from Baker College Business and Corporate Services between 2012 and 2013. Misty also obtained an Associate's degree in Business Management from Baker College Business and Corporate Services between 2011 and 2012.
