Byron Durias

Byron Durias is an experienced educator currently serving as Principal at Seminole County Public Schools since August 2009, focusing on achieving excellence and equity in education while closing the achievement gap. Alongside this role, Byron serves as an Advisor for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and as an Adjunct Professor at Seminole State College of Florida, both positions held since October 2022 and October 2023, respectively. Additionally, Byron has contributed as an Advisory Council Member for Assessment for Good from June 2021 to March 2024 and previously worked as a Teacher at Lake County Schools from August 2004 to October 2008. Byron holds a Bachelor of Education in English Language and Literature from Florida State University, a Master of Education from Jones International University, and a Specialist of Education degree from the same institution.
