Deborah Beckmann is the current Managing Director at Semler Brossy. Deborah has over 20 years of experience in human resources and compensation. Prior to their current position, they served as Partner-Head of Americas Human Capital & Global Reward and Infrastructure at Goldman Sachs from November 2009 to January 2021. In this role, they led a team of 400+ professionals dedicated to managing the alignment of business and talent strategy, including compensation and benefits, performance management, and technological solutions. Deborah also served as an advisor to global divisional and regional management to recruit and retain diverse talent through innovative policies and programs.

From November 2006 to January 2009, Deborah was the Global Head of Executive & Firmwide Compensation at Goldman Sachs. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the annual compensation budget of over $12 billion for more than 38,000 employees globally and outstanding benefits totaling in excess of $30B.

Deborah is skilled in developing and retaining high performing leaders, building relationships, strategic thinking, problem solving, risk management, and operational efficiency.

Deborah Beckmann received their Juris Doctorate from the College of William and Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law, with Honors. Deborah also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology, with a Business Minor, from the University at Albany, SUNY, where they graduated Cum Laude.
