Chris West is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in commercial lending, venture capital, and business litigation. Currently serving as a Principal at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes since October 1996, Chris co-chairs the firm’s venture capital and commercial lending practice, effectively representing venture capitalists in licensing matters. Prior to this role, Chris was a Principal at Weinberg & Green, focusing on commercial lending, and held the position of Partner at Gebhardt & Smith, where the focus was on corporate representation and business litigation. Early in the career, Chris worked as an Associate at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, concentrating on banking and business litigation. Chris earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and also holds an academic background from Williams College and Gilman School.
