Prior to that, Rex held the position of Director of Contracts & Procurement at Trace Systems for nearly a decade, from August 2011 to January 2021. Rex Alexander also worked as a Senior Contracts Manager at ITT from November 2008 to August 2011 and as a Contracts Manager at BAE Systems from July 2006 to November 2008. Rex began their career as a Contracts Manager at Integrated Systems Analysts in January 1994 and worked there for over 12 years until July 2006.

In May 2005, they obtained a Master's Certificate in Federal Government Contracting from George Washington University, and in July 2004, they received a Certificate in Government Contracting from ESI International.
