Juancho Eekhout

Juancho Eekhout has a diverse and extensive work experience. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Strategic Planning Analyst at BP before moving on to become a Trading Manager and an E&P Relationship Manager, leading teams and managing relationships with crude oil production affiliates. In 2008, they joined Sempra Energy as a Director of Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2011, they worked at San Diego Gas & Electric as a Director of Origination & Portfolio Design and later as the Director of Strategic Planning. Juancho then joined Sempra LNG in 2013 as a Senior Director of LNG Commercial Development, where they played a key role in the development and marketing efforts of LNG projects. In 2016, they became the Vice President of Development at IEnova, and later the Chief Development Officer. In 2020, they returned to Sempra, this time at Sempra Infrastructure, where they currently hold the position of Vice President of Business Development, overseeing the growth of their businesses in natural gas liquefaction, LNG regasification/power, and net zero solutions. Juancho is also leading the execution of the ECA LNG project in Mexico, as well as developing other LNG opportunities in the country.

Juancho Eekhout obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, completing their studies from 1993 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, attending from 1999 to 2001.
