Head of Network Optimisation - Australia at Sendle

Maita Gaerlan has a diverse work experience in various companies. Maita began their career in L'Oréal, where they worked as a Management Trainee in Marketing and Sales from 2010 to 2011. Maita then progressed to become a Junior Product Manager from 2012 to 2013, and eventually a Product Manager from 2013 to 2014.

In 2014, Maita joined Uber and played a significant role in customer support operations. Maita initially launched and managed outsourced customer support globally, and later focused on APAC customer support, launching new channels and vendors. From 2016 to 2017, they project managed the establishment of the Manila Centre of Excellence and supervised a team of 150 employees supporting the US, ANZ, and Southeast Asia. As a Senior Community Operations Manager, they also built and implemented a learning and development program for team members in Southeast and North Asia.

Maita continued their journey at Uber as an Onboarding Operations Manager for Australia and New Zealand from 2018 to 2019, where they managed teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new restaurant partners. Their collaboration with other departments aimed to optimize the process through product features and automations.

Currently, they are working as the Head of Network Optimization for Sendle since November 2019. In this role, they work closely with courier partners to enhance and optimize the shipping service to provide the best experience for customers. Maita applies their analytical capability, creativity, operational savviness, and project management skills to address day-to-day operational requirements and long-term company strategy.

Maita Gaerlan pursued higher education at De La Salle University from 2005 to 2010. Maita achieved a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Marketing during this period. Additionally, they simultaneously obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from the same university. Prior to their university studies, Maita Gaerlan completed their high school education at St. Paul College of Pasig from 2001 to 2005. Besides their formal education, they also hold certifications in Uber Management Experience from Uber and Preventing Workplace Harassment from Emtrain, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications were not provided.
