Haley Flenker

Director Of Community Relations at Senior Star

Haley Flenker has a diverse range of work experience in the senior living industry, with a particular focus on memory care. Haley began their career at Sunshine Childcare as a Teacher Assistant from 2010 to 2012. From 2013 to 2015, Haley worked at the Iowa State University, where they were a Research Assistant and a Work Study Student. During their time at the university, they also served as a Human Development & Family Studies Peer Mentor, providing guidance and support to incoming freshmen.

In 2015, Haley interned at the Iowa Department on Aging, where they assisted in creating and evaluating training programs for Iowa governmental employees and Area Agencies on Aging. Haley also helped coordinate the 2016 Iowa Governor's Conference on Aging.

Continuing their interest in aging and dementia, Haley interned at the Alzheimer's Association in 2016, where they led a statewide medical conference and caregiving conference. Haley also secured a physician from the Center of Memory and Aging in Minnesota to present at the conference.

From 2016 to 2017, Haley worked as a Community Outreach Coordinator at The Shores at Pleasant Hill Senior Living Community, where they established and maintained relationships with prospects, residents, families, and professionals in the field. Haley also managed inquiries and admissions through Move-N software.

Haley then joined the Senior Star Management Company in 2017, initially as a Community Relations Coordinator. In this role, they assisted prospects and families in navigating the various options in independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Haley maintained high occupancy rates within the community. Haley later transitioned to the position of a Community Relations Consultant, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and educating the Quad Cities community about Senior Star and the senior living industry. Currently, they are the Memory Care Director at Senior Star, overseeing a 40-apartment memory care community within a larger senior living community. Haley is responsible for staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and implementing a comprehensive memory care program. Haley continues to build relationships with healthcare and non-healthcare professionals in the Quad Cities area.

Haley Flenker attended Holy Trinity Catholic School from 2009 to 2012 and completed their high school education. Haley then pursued their Bachelor's degree at Iowa State University from 2012 to 2016. At Iowa State University, they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a major in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences. Haley also completed a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education & Studies during the same period.
