Sarah Cecil

Sarah Cecil has an extensive work experience spanning several fields. Sarah began their career as a painter and printmaker, showcasing their work in solo and group exhibitions across the country. Alongside their artistic pursuits, they also worked as a freelance writer and editor for various publications, specializing in art, antiques, and interior design.

In 1988, Sarah Cecil transitioned into the nonprofit sector, taking on roles such as Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Portland Museum of Art and Director of Development at the American Civil Liberties Union (Maine chapter). Sarah later served as the Executive Director of the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance, where they successfully re-organized the organization and eliminated its long-term debt.

Sarah then moved into the marketing and development field, working as a consultant and Executive Director for organizations such as York Hospital and the Maine Reads nonprofit. During their tenure, they increased donations and implemented effective marketing strategies.

In 2009, Sarah became the Principal Designer and President at Rose Cumming Design, a family interior design business. Sarah also wrote and lectured extensively on art, antiques, and interior design, including a memoir/foreword published by Rizzoli that was recognized by The New York Times T Magazine.

Most recently, Sarah Cecil served as the Director of Marketing and Development at SeniorsPlus, focusing on the organization's marketing and fundraising efforts. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership skills, a passion for the arts, and a commitment to nonprofit and community organizations.

Sarah Cecil attended St. Paul's School, NH, where they completed their high school education. Sarah then went on to pursue a double major in Art and English Literature at Brown University, where they earned their BAs.
