Product Designer at Sense

Allison Lu has a diverse background in product design and user experience research. Allison is currently working as a Product Designer at Sense, where they focus on creating user-friendly onboarding experiences and improving sign-up flows to promote energy reduction. Prior to this, they worked as a Creative Technologist at DraftKings Inc., where they designed responsive landing pages and incorporated web animations to enhance user engagement. Allison also has experience as a UI Engineer at Microsoft, where they developed a React web app for small/medium businesses and advocated for user-centered design decisions. Additionally, they worked as a UX Researcher at Northwestern University Delta Lab, where they designed a chrome extension to track studying behavior and implemented a methodology to help students reflect on their learning strategies. Earlier in their career, Allison gained practical experience as a Product Design Intern at Encore Packaging Corporation, where they designed industrial packaging tools and created instructional materials.

Allison Lu attended Northwestern University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. During their time at Northwestern, they also obtained a Certificate from the Segal Design Institute. Prior to attending university, Allison completed their high school education at Warren Township High School from 2010 to 2014. Additionally, they received a certification as a SolidWorks Associate from Dassault Systèmes in September 2015.
