Machine Learning Engineer at Sense

Mohammad Karimzadeh has a diverse range of work experience. Mohammad started their career as a Summer Intern at the Iran Research Institute for ICT– ITRC in 2011. Mohammad then worked as a Research Assistant and Research Engineer at the University of Tehran from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they joined Tufts University as a Research Assistant and later became a Teacher Assistant from 2017 to 2018, where they taught and assisted in Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition courses. Mohammad also had a Summer Internship at SoundSense, LLC in 2017, where they worked on high-frequency ultrasonic imaging.

Since 2018, Mohammad has been working at Sense, where their role has been as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on non-intrusive load disaggregation for the Sense Energy Monitoring app. Mohammad'swork includes improving energy efficiency, fault-detection, and preventive maintenance using machine learning techniques. Sense has been recognized as one of the world's top 100 AI companies by VentureBeat in 2019.

Mohammad Karimzadeh obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics from Iran University of Science and Technology, graduating in 2011. Mohammad then pursued a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Systems at the University of Tehran, completing it between 2011 and 2013. Currently, they are working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering - Communication Systems at Tufts University, with an expected completion date in 2023. Additionally, they hold certifications including a B.Sc. Certification from Iran University of Science and Technology, an M.Sc. Certification from the University of Tehran, and a Second Stage Lifeguard certification from the Iran Lifeguard Federation.
