Olivier Al-Khatib, FRSA

Olivier Al-Khatib is the Founder & Investor of La Pietra Capital, a position they have held since January 2018. Prior to this, they served as the Director of London Data Consulting, a company that provides data solutions such as data science, data engineering, and data analysis. Olivier also worked as the CTO & Chief Data Scientist at Sensefolio, where they utilized AI, machine learning, and NLP techniques to rate companies' involvement in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics.

In terms of their experience in the finance industry, Olivier served as a Senior Vice President at Bank of America from May 2019 to March 2021. Before that, they worked as a Quantitative Research Analyst at AllianceBernstein and as a Quantitative Risk Manager at AXA Investment Managers.

Outside of their professional roles, Olivier was heavily involved in the Imperial College Finance Society and the Imperial College Investment Society during their time at Imperial College London. In these roles, they held positions such as Senior Vice President and Head of the Consumer Goods Sector / Investment Magazine Editor, respectively. Olivier played a vital role in expanding the societies' membership, organizing events, and maintaining relationships with sponsors and other finance societies worldwide. Olivier was also involved in coordinating conferences and international trips.

Olivier Al-Khatib, FRSA has a diverse education history that includes multiple degrees and certifications. In 2011, they began their higher education at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics and Management in 2014. During this time, Olivier also completed their French Baccalaureate at Lycée Giocante de Casabianca, specializing in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

After completing their bachelor's degree, Olivier pursued further education at Imperial College Business School in 2014, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Management, Digital Business. In the same year, they also attended the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a summer school program focused on Finance and Financial Markets.

Following their time at Imperial College Business School and LSE, Olivier continued their education at Imperial College London in 2015. Olivier obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science in 2016, further expanding their knowledge and expertise in the field.

In addition to their degrees, Olivier has also pursued various certifications. In 2014, they obtained a BESS in Equity, Commodity, Fixed Income, and FX from Bloomberg LP. In 2015, they earned several certifications, including Thomson.ONE Investment Banking Certification, Thomson Reuters Eikon & Version 4 Certification, and Datastream Certification, all from Thomson Reuters. Olivier also obtained a Trading Education Certificate from Credit Suisse.

Continuing their professional development, Olivier obtained several certifications in 2016 and 2017. These include Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) from Bloomberg LP, Machine Learning for Trading from Georgia Tech (via Udacity), Machine Learning from Stanford University (via Coursera), Neural Networks for Machine Learning from the University of Toronto (via Coursera), and Hadoop Platform and Application Framework from UC San Diego (via Coursera). In 2017, they also completed the IBM Blockchain Essentials certification from IBM.
