Raphael Horvath

Application Engineer at Sensirion

Raphael Horvath has a strong background in scientific research and engineering. Raphael started their career as a Lab Demonstrator and Chemistry Tutor at the University of Otago, where they taught courses in Physical Chemistry and The Chemical Basis of Biology and Human Health. In 2012, they joined the University of Nottingham as a Research Fellow, focusing on investigating the photophysical and photochemical processes of transition metal complexes using advanced spectroscopic techniques. During their time there, they worked on projects involving time-resolved X-ray absorption spectroscopy and time-resolved infrared investigations of functional materials for various applications. In 2018, Raphael joined IRsweep as an Application Engineer, a role they held until 2023. Currently, they are working as an Application Engineer at Sensirion.

Raphael Horvath obtained their Bachelor of Science with Honors in Chemistry from the University of Otago, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry at the same institution, completing their degree from 2009 to 2012.
