Dirk Trauner is currently a Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor at the University of Pennsylvania since July 2022. Prior to this role, Dirk served as a Professor of Chemistry and Neuroscience and held the Janice Cutler Chair in Chemistry at New York University from January 2017 to July 2022. Dirk's academic career includes a position as a Professor of Chemical Biology and Chemical Genetics at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München from 2008 to March 2017, and an Associate Professorship followed by an Assistant Professorship at the University of California, Berkeley from 2000 to 2008. Dirk began a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemistry at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1998 to 2000. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Vienna and a Diplomchemiker in Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin.
