Angela Toepp

Angela Toepp is an accomplished epidemiologist currently serving as the Director of System Research and Enterprise Analytics at Sentara Healthcare since November 2021. Simultaneously, Angela holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and works as a Health Services Researcher at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Prior to these roles, Angela was a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Iowa from August 2013 to September 2020 and also served as a Graduate Research Assistant there. With a strong foundation in immunology, parasitology, microbiology, and biostatistics, Angela's research primarily focuses on the transmission dynamics of Leishmania infantum through large-scale population health studies. Angela earned a Ph.D. in Epidemiology and a Graduate Certificate in Biostatistics from the University of Iowa and holds a Master’s Degree in Bacteriology and a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences with Honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
