K.T Montshiwa's work experience began in 1992 with the Netherlands Development Organization, where they served as a Program Officer, focusing on assisting the disadvantaged in Botswana society. They developed a successful pilot project for HIV/AIDS Home Based Care and presented it at a partners meeting in The Hague.

From 1999 to 2003, they worked at the Botswana Institute of Development Policy Analysis as a Research Fellow. They established the Vision Council Secretariat and advised the National Vision Council on policy and developmental issues.

From 2003 to 2015, they held various roles in organizations such as the Botswana Baylor Children's Clinical Centre of Excellence, PACT-Botswana, Baylor Swaziland Children's Foundation, and Family Health International. They were involved in program management, administration, strategic planning, and private sector engagement.

In 2015, they joined Boitekanelo College as a Strategic Planning and Group Communications Manager. They were responsible for stakeholder management, partnership agreements, and advisory on strategic issues.

In 2016, they joined Sentebale as the Head of Programme Botswana, where they set up an office and provided psychosocial support to HIV-infected children.

Overall, K.T Montshiwa has a diverse background in program management, strategic planning, and advocacy in the field of HIV/AIDS.

Ketlogetswe (K.T) Montshiwa's education history begins in 1981 when they enrolled at the University of Botswana. Between 1981 and 1985, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, specializing in Sociology and Environmental Science. After completing their undergraduate studies, Montshiwa went on to enroll at The University of Edinburgh in 1986, where they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Urban and Regional Planning. They successfully completed their MPhil in 1988. Later, in 2001, Montshiwa attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Social and Organizational Psychology. Their time at LSE lasted from 2001 to 2002, during which they obtained their MSc degree.
