Gozde Yucel

Senior Scientist of Preclinical and Translational Research at Senti Biosciences

Gozde Yucel, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various scientific and educational roles. Gozde is currently working at Senti Biosciences as a Senior Scientist of Preclinical and Translational Research, where they are responsible for developing immune cell culture analytical tools and techniques. Gozde has also played a significant role in generating allogeneic Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-NK cells against AML using Logic Gated CAR technology. Additionally, Gozde has trained and mentored junior scientists throughout their time at Senti Biosciences.

Prior to their current position, Gozde worked as a Scientist and Senior Research Associate at Senti Biosciences. In these roles, they contributed to the identification and preclinical evaluation of therapeutic candidates to enhance the therapeutic potency of CAR-T cells. Gozde collaborated with a team to generate autologous CAR-T cells against Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and screened over 100 constructs in vitro.

Before joining Senti Biosciences, Gozde served as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine. During their time there, they led a team to analyze the role of hair follicle stem cells during the hair growth cycle and developed a mouse model to investigate pathways that regulate quiescence of the hair follicle.

In addition to their scientific roles, Gozde has also been involved in education. Gozde worked as a Head Teaching Assistant and Teaching Assistant at New York University, where they coordinated Teaching Assistants, handled grades, and conducted Biology Laboratory classes and dissections.

Gozde's educational background includes a PhD from New York University and a graduate degree from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University. Gozde also participated in the Stanford Ignite Fellowship program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Gozde Yucel, PhD has an extensive education history. Gozde pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Ankara University, which they completed from 1993 to 1998. Gozde then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Immunology from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University, which they accomplished from 1998 to 2001.

Furthering their education, Gozde Yucel pursued a Master's Degree in Developmental Genetics from New York University, which they completed from 2002 to 2005. Gozde then continued their studies at New York University and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Developmental Genetics from 2005 to 2008.

Gozde Yucel's educational journey also took their to Stanford University, where they pursued a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Oncology and Cancer Biology from 2008 to 2013 at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Additionally, in 2013, they obtained a Certificate in Stanford Ignite from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

In addition to their academic achievements, Gozde Yucel obtained the Code of Conduct Essentials V3.21 certification from Traliant in May 2022.
