Seth Weidman

Seth Weidman has over 10 years of work experience in the data science field. From 2010 to 2012, they worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chicago. In 2012, they began working as a Business Analyst for The Cambridge Group, where they developed models to solve clients' problems using Excel, SPSS, and R, manipulated big data using SAS, structured and wrote decks for client presentations, and organized and led training sessions on proprietary Nielsen software. In 2014, they moved to Capital One, where they managed the business intent for a $16B card partnerships portfolio. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Data Scientist at Trunk Club, building pipelines in Python to query data from a variety of internal sources and deploying models as RESTful APIs. Seth also worked as a Data Science Instructor at General Assembly and a Course Support Specialist and Code Reviewer at Udacity. In 2017, they began working as a Senior Data Scientist at Metis, where they taught the full-time Metis bootcamp. Seth then moved to Facebook in 2018, where they worked as a Data Scientist. Seth is currently employed as a Senior Data Scientist and Data Scientist at SentiLink.

Seth Weidman obtained a B.S. in Mathematics with Specialization in Economics from the University of Chicago between 2008 and 2012. In 2014, they obtained nine Coursera Verified Certificates in the fields of Regression Models, Intro to Computer Science, Reproducible Research, Statistical Inference, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, and R Programming, as well as The Data Scientist’s Toolbox. In 2015, they obtained an Intermediate (Estimated) Duolingo Spanish Fluency Certificate. In 2017, they obtained a Deep Learning Foundations Nanodegree from Udacity, and in 2018, they obtained an Algorithms: Design and Analysis Part 1 Certificate from Stanford Online.
