Marko Pihlar

Marko Pihlar has extensive experience in the technology industry. From 2015 to present, they have served as the CEO of Sentinel Marine Solutions, a fusion between IoT and BigData research making its footprint in the marine industry. Marko was a top performer in the 2nd generation of IMPACT start-up acceleration programme and a national winner of the "Best IoT startup" CESA award, sponsored by GE. During their time at Sentinel Marine Solutions, Marko was responsible for business operations, product design and strategy, investor relations, key integrations, company growth and internationalisation.

Prior to this, Marko worked at XLAB d.o.o. from 2003 to 2008 as the COO of a cloud computing company based in Technology Park Ljubljana. From 2008 to 2015, they held two positions at ISL Online Ltd. Marko served as the Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for the EuroCloud Europe Award winning All-in-One product suite, and as the Product Manager of secure online meeting and webinar software with desktop and application sharing, VoIP, video, PowerPoint slides import.

Marko Pihlar has studied at the University of Ljubljana, where they pursued a degree in Computer Science and Economics. Marko also attended Gimnazija Bežigrad. No additional certifications have been reported.
